Neoconservative

Who needs them, the war party

In 2001, the year president Bush proclaimed the 'War on terror' following 9/11, a majority of positions in the State Department were taken by people with Neoconservative ideology. The Patriot act was adopted five weeks after 9/11 and planning to change the face of the Middle East the State Dept issued plans to the Pentagon for toppling the governments of eight countries surrounding Israel and Jordan, as Nato commander Wesley Clark disclosed in his 2008 election campaign in vivid detail. Despite Obama's big promise, 'CHANGE', raising our expectations the State Dept persisted its hawkish belligerent policies. Joe Klein wrote in Time: "Neoconservatism is best described as unilateral bellicosity cloaked in the utopian rhetoric of freedom and democracy".

Formerly a tiny liberal movement endorsing civil movements in the fifties and sixties, Leo Strauss began elaborating on the classical idea of the 'Noble Lie'. turning to imperialist supremacism, during the late eighties and nineties, crystalized in the Wolfowitz' doctrine ('never allow the rise of a potential US rival'), a policy study called 'Rebuilding America's defenses' and the 'Project for a New American Century' in 1998 initiated by  Kagan.

Neocons have since dominated US foreign policy throughout the respective administrations, as if they'd been elected, hinting to a malfunction in Western Democracy. In 2014 Kagan's wife Victoria Nuland delivered an anti-Russian Ultra-nationalist replacement of Ukraine's legitimate government, setting a milestone in Breszinski's 'Grand Chessboard', strategy to gain control of the Eurasian continent.

Remarkably this tiny group, not particular associated with either Republicans or Democrats has risen to prominence in shaping US policy. *

A notable factoid comes in handy in International Affairs and factfinding. The Neocons are always wrong. Some have taken the Noble Lie to the level of daily practice, so consistently that their public statements are actually quiet informative. Take a listen of Bill Kristol, Max Boot or John Bolton and you can take a sure bet on the exact opposite.

* MK update, 2022
Nuland is the queen of former Ukranaine ("the Kingdom of Nulandistan"). Her  lofty initiatives for democratic reform to 'civilization' in Ukraine drew support in the West. It brought however immediate repression to Russian speaking native population. That is about half the country. It brought censorship in Ukranian media and the removal of about all of the opposition from parliament. Supremacist 'exclusivists' (aka Fascists) took the lives of over 14 000 Ukrainian civilians during a period of eight years. Neocon Queen Nuland had Biological weapon labs placed near Russia's border - Mrs Nuland confirmed that in 2022. Kiev readied an attack force, West of the Minsk Treaty Line, to invade and destroy the rural breakaway republics by early 2022. As predicted in 2014 Moscow intervened militarily, having exhausted its diplomatic means for a European security structure.
